Privacy Policy

1. What We Collect

1stSignal is designed with a local-first approach. The following data is stored exclusively on your device (browser localStorage or Chrome extension storage):

• Your profile information (name, role, industries, location — entered voluntarily)
• Your saved searches, watchlist, and pipeline stages
• Your application tracking history (Chrome extension)
• Your connections CSV (processed locally, never transmitted)

We do not operate a database of user accounts or user data.

2. AI Query Processing

When you run a search or company research, your query is sent to our secure server-side proxy (hosted on Vercel) which forwards it to the Anthropic Claude API. The query may include your profile context to personalize results.

• Queries are not stored by 1stSignal after processing
• Anthropic may process queries per their own Privacy Policy
• No query is linked to a persistent user identity on our end

3. Chrome Extension

The 1stSignal Chrome Extension stores application tracking data locally in Chrome's storage. This data:

• Never leaves your browser except when you initiate an AI research or outreach request
• Is not synced to any external server by 1stSignal
• Can be cleared at any time from Chrome's extension settings

4. No Tracking, No Ads

1stSignal does not use analytics trackers, advertising pixels, or third-party tracking scripts. We do not sell your data to any third party, ever.

5. Your Resume

If you use the resume drop feature, your resume text is sent to the Anthropic API to extract profile fields. It is processed in-memory and not stored by 1stSignal.

6. Subscription and Payment Data

If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers, bank details, or other financial information on our servers.

7. Data Deletion

Most data is stored locally on your device and can be deleted by clearing your browser's localStorage or removing the Chrome extension. To cancel a paid subscription and request deletion of your Stripe customer record, use the "Manage Subscription" option in the app or contact us at support@1stsignal.ai.

8. Children's Privacy

1stSignal is intended for professional use by adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
