The short version: 1stSignal is an AI-powered hiring intelligence tool. You pay for a subscription, you get access to AI-driven company research and job search features. Don't abuse it, don't resell it, and we'll keep building it better for you.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using 1stSignal ("the Service"), operated by Sourcing Machine LLC ("we", "us", "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

1stSignal provides AI-powered hiring intelligence, company research, job search assistance, and career tools. The Service uses artificial intelligence (powered by Anthropic's Claude) to analyze publicly available information and provide research summaries, hiring signals, and career recommendations.

3. Accounts and Subscriptions

The Service offers free and paid tiers. Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually through Stripe.

Free Trial: New paid subscribers receive a 7-day free trial. Cancel before the trial ends to avoid charges.
Cancellation: Cancel at any time through the Stripe Customer Portal. Access continues through the end of your billing period.
Refunds: Case-by-case within 7 days. Contact support@1stsignal.ai.
Price Changes: 30 days notice. Existing subscribers keep their current price through their billing period.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
Resell or redistribute access to the Service
Use automated tools or bots beyond the intended interface
Circumvent usage limits or tier restrictions
Reverse-engineer or decompile the Service
Use the Service to harass or harm any individual
Misrepresent AI-generated content as human-written where disclosure is required

5. AI-Generated Content

AI results are for informational purposes only. We do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, or timeliness.

AI results may contain errors, outdated information, or hallucinated details
Always verify critical information through official sources
1stSignal is a research assistant, not an employment agency or legal advisor
We are not responsible for decisions made based on AI output

6. Intellectual Property

The Service, its design, features, and brand are owned by Sourcing Machine LLC. Your subscription grants you a personal, non-transferable license to use the Service.

7. Data and Privacy

Your use of the Service is governed by our Privacy Policy. Your data stays on your device, AI queries are processed through our secure proxy, and we don't sell your data.

8. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms or engage in abusive behavior. You may stop using the Service at any time.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
